Larian yang julung kali diadakan ini terbahagi kepada beberapa ketegori iaitu kategori Pelajar Sekolah Lelaki, Pelajar Sekolah Perempuan, Terbuka Lelaki 18-39 tahun, Terbuka Wanita 18-39 tahun, Terbuka Veteran Lelaki dan Veteran Wanita yang berumur 40 tahun ke atas.
“Bagi ketegori Pelajar Lelaki dan Perempuan, yuran yang dikenakan hanya RM3 manakala bagi lain-lain kategori yuran yang di kenakan adalah RM5.
“Larian Kedah Sejahtera 2011 ini akan melibatkan laluan sekitar Bandaraya Alor Setar sejauh kira-kira 7.5 kilometer.
“Hadiah yang ditawarkan bagi semua pemenang tempat pertama hingga ke 20 adalah medal manakala bagi tempat pertama hingga keempat akan di sertakan dengan wang tunai,” katanya lagi.
