OUR 1ST RACE TO THE 1ST KUCHING MARATHON 2014 AND ALSO OUR 1ST TIME STEPPING INTO SARAWAK, LAND OF THE HORNBILLS. THE WEATHER ON RACE DAY WAS COOL AND A BIT OF DRIZZLE BUT LUCKILY IT STOPPED. THROUGHOUT THE ROUTE WAS QUITE UNDULATING, NOT AS FLAT AS WE THOUGHT TO BE. IT WAS QUITE DARK AT SOME AREAS. COMMENDABLE IS THE WATER, MARSHALS AND TRAFFIC POLICE WERE PLENTY THROUGHOUT THE ROUTE. BUT WE WERE RATHER UNHAPPY WITH THE PRIZE GIVING WHICH WAS VERY MESSY AND WASTING A LOT OF TIME. WE HOPE THE ORGANISER WILL IMPROVE ON THIS AND ESPECIALLY IS THE CHARGING OF $$$ FOR THE BAGGAGE WHICH NEVER BEFORE HAPPENED IN THE RACE HISTORY.
